Fiona Elliott from Year 14 recently performed in a special Gala Concert at Cambridge House Grammar School, Ballymena. Fiona responded along with over twenty other talented young musicians from across the province to an invitation sent by Cambridge House to all post-primary schools in Northern Ireland to join in their “Steinway Experience” Gala Evening to celebrate the school’s acquisition of a Steinway Concert Grand Piano as part of their Centenary Celebrations. Fiona who performed Andaluza by E Granados was delighted to have the opportunity to play such a magnificent instrument and to meet the other promising musicians who performed with her on the evening. An all-round musician, Fiona has just gained her LCM diploma and was recognised as “Outstanding Pianist” in the recent Fermanagh Feis. She has also gained Grade 8 in Flute and plays Drumkit and Guitar. She is organist in SpringfieldMethodistChurch and a member of Magheraboy Flute Band. A Music Prefect in school, she regularly accompanies choral groups in assembly. Fiona hopes to continue her Music studies at QueensUniversityBelfast.
