GCSE AND A LEVEL EXAMINATION RESULTS

The year ended with good results in both GCSE and A Level examinations, with some outstanding individual performances. At Advanced Level all girls entered for three or more subjects at A2 achieved a 100% pass rate.   90% of all entries were at A*-C.  Among the top achievers were Nicola Barton and Kathryn Dane who each achieved three A* and one A, Ellen Cupples who achieved three A* grades and Naairah Khan and Lisa Sheridan who each achieved four A grades.  Nicola Barton and Eva Gauley have also achieved the valuable JP McManus All-Ireland Scholarships on the basis of their A level results.   Kathryn Dane also gained an entrance exhibition to Trinity College, Dublin on the strength of her A level results. At GCSE 98.8% of pupils achieved seven GCSE at A*-C including English and Maths placing the school on the cusp of the 95th percentile of schools in Northern Ireland according to DE statistics.  92% of all grades were at A*-B and almost two thirds of the girls had at least 5 A or A* grades in their portfolio.   Laura Trimble’s GCSE Art work was selected for the CCEA True Colours exhibition which showcases the most exciting and innovative outcomes of young artists across Northern Ireland and Ciara Gill’s film as part of her Moving Image Art project was placed first in the CCEA competition.  Ciara studies Moving Image Arts at Erne Integrated College as a link course within the FLC.

 Summer 2014  Level:  AS Results

A small number of girls in Year 14 took AS examinations in subjects which they had decided not to take to A2 Level.  Since it would be possible to deduce the results of individuals from any information published, it has been decided only to publish the AS results of the Year 13 group (77 girls).
